Electrical Installations: Ceiling fans.

House fans are a must for any home because they are a great way to save money on cooling costs during the summer months, and they can also add a stylish finesse to your home if you choose the right design and model.

Since house fans come in many different shapes and sizes, with out without lights, from ceiling to portable units, its important to know how much you want to invest for installation: would you rather go a designer fan for fashion or simply for comfort? Either way, when buying house fans, make sure you look for superior products that will last more than a couple of seasons. It may cost a little more, but in the long run you’ll be saving money.

Installing a ceiling fan is relatively simple, especially if the space above is accessible from an attic.

The popularity of ceiling fans continues to grow as more and more homeowners discover dramatic, year-round energy savings. In summer, ceiling fans create cooling breezes, which reduce the strain on air conditioners. In winter, they circulate heated air to keep the room warm.

Mounting the Ceiling Fan

If possible, the ceiling fan should be anchored to a ceiling joist. In the case that the joist is not located in the center of the room, a special ceiling fan mounting bracket should be installed between joists. Keep in mind that ceiling fans can weigh as much as 25 kilograms!
